I was pulled to this essay because I too have an interest in "Bad girls". I enjoy trying to understand what goes on in their minds as they go thrugh with their actions. I thought it was very interesting how this book could create to very different feelings for you. To read this book and feel totally repulsive towards it but then also to want to understand everything about the Countess was very surprising to me.

It is interesting how you relate the characters in the book to "bad girls".
The traits of Countess Erzebet Bathory is well shown in the essay, I would like to read the book.

I just love the idea that we can read or write about bad girls, and enjoy their badness vicariously.

Question for readers: What other bad girls have you all read, if only for the joy of experiencing their badness?
